Squid Game review

Squid Game – Plays with Minds & Emotions Really Well!!

So, today we are going to talk about the most popular, trending everywhere South Korean Netflix Series, “Squid Game”. That why is this actual hype everyone’s going crazy?? Why everyone is talking about this series… I mean what’s so special about it. Let’s find out.

The series is a mixture of thrill, suspense, drama, and intrigue as well. From the beginning scene, it hooks you up, to watch it till last. There was an intro about the squid game which is a very famous game for children in South Korea.

The writer and director of the series, Hwang Dong-Hyuk has created the world of this series so vast and stretch full. It allows the viewers to witness the original Tradition and Culture of South Korea well. I mean, the plot he has written is super thrilling and interesting to watch. What made it super special is the brilliant execution that urges us to binge-watch it without any gaping.

Squid game cast:

Starring Lee Jung Jae, Hoyeon Jung, Wi- Ha Joon, Park Hae Soo, Gong Yoo, Lee – Yoo Mi, Lee – Byung Hun, Lee – Ji Ha, Heo Sung Tae, Kim Joo Ryeong, Anupam Tripathi, & Yeong- Su Oh in lead roles.

Every single actor did justice to their role. What powerful performances from the whole cast? Moreover, I would like to say it was realistic to see every single character performing. The way they are reacting and behaving and communicating with each other According to the given situation.

Squid game characters include Lee Jung Jae as Seong Gi- hun who is the lead character. He is a hero picked up from a daily life routine. Not like a fantasy world’s super charming and hot kinda handsome man.

He is an average-looking uncle, a flawed human being who is very much failed in all his important life decisions and tasks. He is divorced and a father of ten years old girl living with his old mother. His bond with his mother and daughter proves to be a very likable and emotional part of the series. Every single human being can relate to this.

Problems with Squid Game:

My first problem with the series Is that it progresses very slowly… The first three episodes were kind of very slow, still, it hooks up its audience. But what was the point of stretching it out till episode 9? Why it was so necessary to drag it out unnecessarily?

Pakistani Character “Ali” Played by an Indian Actor, Anupam Tripathi:

For Squid game cast Ali, Ahmed Ali Butt slammed the makers of the Squid game. By not allowing any Pakistani artist for an original Pakistani guy shown character. Replacing it with an Indian actor. He quoted on his Instagram story: ” It’s so much frustrating to see Pakistani characters in big Tv series, being played by Indian actors. Why can’t these productions cast original Pakistani actors for such roles?.

The same goes for films. If you’re making a film and it’s about a Pakistani city, why is it always cheated with somewhere else?. We need to make new progressive film policies. So that international Filmmakers can use actual location and talent from our country rather than cheap substitutes. “

And I completely agree with this statement that why should always there be an Indian actor in a bigger NETFLIX’S platform portraying our country? If you are using our name, using our religion’s name in his character then you should also cast an original Pakistani actor.

Though the character portrays himself to be a very dumbest and weakest person. I would say, literally, I was getting furious over this thing, is it intentional to show that we Pakistanis are naturally dumb, weak, or under-confident human beings. Or it’s just a part of the creative storyline? I am still confused over this point. And thinking that if they’ve tried to showcase us like that, it is the cheapest thought from writer and creative of the series and most problematic too!!

Squid game Supporting characters:

Anyhow, talking about the other supporting characters, everybody has played their part beautifully I would say. The track of two girls, where one with the nose pin was going to die. But after a moment, her story, her way of explaining her situation, why she was present there, and why she deserves to get this survival gift, was a beautifully executed and damn emotional part of the series.

Though the female characters were given a short span of screen time as compared to the male leads, still they shined bright.

Unique And Unexpected Ending of Squid game season 1:

After watching all the squid game episodes of season 1, the ending was unique and unpredictable. It was showing ” To be continued” that signified about the coming season 2 and guess what? everyone around the world is waiting very anxiously for its second season to witness what will happen next.

According to the sources and reports, the creator of the show Hwang Dong Hyuk is currently busy writing the story of its sequel and uncompleted story. We are hoping to see that this time he will produce better content with zero conflicts as well.

Final Verdict on Squid Game Season 1:

I would rate it 8 on 10 stars. You can watch it if u are willing to see something new, out-of-the-box kind of storyline. About Squid game season 2 release date There’s been a lot of talk about Squid Game and many people are wondering about squid game season 2.

We hope Netflix will soon provide an update for this show and we’re looking forward to hearing what they have to say. But now that many of the key pieces are in place, we hope a second season could arrive as soon as late 2022.
